Writing is a Process.

To put it simply: historians are storytellers. We parse through delicate documents and piece together the past. But the art of history is in narrative storytelling. The same kind of writing that is so important to college applications.

I’m not only a storyteller myself, I’ve helped hundreds of students brainstorm, draft, and revise essays throughout my career. Whether assigning essays in my 9th grade Global Studies class or college-level History of American Education course, helping Juniors and Seniors craft their own college application essays, or working with students one-on-one in UW’s History Writing Lab, I’ve guided students from idea to final draft countless times.
